Tri-series in West Indies:

Still no room for Sehwag, Gambhir, Yuvraj and Zaheer as India keep faith in Champions Trophy squad Sri Lanka will be the third team in the tournament to be held between June 28 and July 11.

The BCCI has announced a 15-member squad for India's tour to the West Indies that follows immediately after the ICC Champions Trophy. The Indian selectors have retained the squad that is currently playing in the eight-nation tournament in the United Kingdom.

The tri-series, also featuring Sri Lanka, will be held between June 28 and July 11. The ODI games will be played in Antigua, Jamaica and Trinidad.

While selecting the squad for the Champions Trophy in May, the BCCI selectors had also shortlisted a 21-member probables list for the tri-nation in West Indies. The other 6 members in that list were Manoj Tiwary, Praveen Kumar, Mohammed Shami Ahmed, Ambati Rayudu, Rahul Sharma and Gautam Gambhir. However, after its impressive show in the Champions Trophy, the selectors have decided to stick with the current national squad.

The faith in the current bunch means there is no place for the likes of Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag and Zaheer Khan. It's probably a sign of things to come.

Sehwag's last ODI was against Pakistan earlier this year, but was dropped following poor performances. Yuvraj played the series against England that followed the Pakistan one but was dropped soon after. Zaheer has been suffering from injury and has not played an ODI since August last year.

Realistically, the only senior player who had a chance of making the squad was Gambhir, who was part of the 21-man probable list. However the selectors have decided against changing the opening combination of Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma that has given India great starts in the Champions Trophy so far.

INDIA SQUAD: MS Dhoni, Shikhar Dhawan, Murali Vijay, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Dinesh Karthik, Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Irfan Pathan, Amit Mishra, Vinay Kumar.
